Structural biochemistry of protein networks in meiotic crossover control

Project description
During meiosis, different DNA repair intermediates can be processed in different ways that lead to either crossovers, or non-crossover events. How is this controlled? In this project you will build on recent work from our lab (Altmannova, Firlej et al. biorxiv 2022; https://doi.org/10.1101/2022.06.27.497840) on puzzling out the details of protein interaction networks that contribute to crossover control. You will take a principally in vitro approach and work on purifying protein complexes and determining how they interact with one another. You will use biochemical, biophysical and structural biological tools. There will be opportunities to work with collaborators using single molecule approaches and in vivo assays.
