BioConnect - symposium, retreat and seminar series
BioConnect Symposium
Every other year doctoral researchers present their work to the IMPRS faculty and other colleagues at the BioConnect Symposium. All doctoral researchers contribute to the symposium, either through an oral or poster presentation. They share the aims of their project, progress to date and future plans. The BioConnectSymposium is a great opportunity to get an overview of the research activities conducted by all IMPRS doctoral researchers and colleagues and exchange with our research community. Since 2025 postdocs from IMPRS Groups also present their research at the symposium.
BioConnect Retreat
In the year with no symposium the doctoral researchers go on a retreat. The retreat offers every doctral researcher the opportunity to benefit from the overall scientific scope and knowledge of our research community by creating space for intense and inspiring discussions about the research of each doctoral researcher. Throughout the course of the discussions, many existing collaborations are enhanced and new ones started. In addition, the retreat allows time for socializing away from the pressures of the lab or office and building friendships and networks.
BioConnect Seminar Series
As part of our internal BioConnect Seminar Series advanced doctoral researchers present their ongoing research projects next to our postdocs, group and project leaders and facility heads. The objective of those seminars is to discuss current work on projects, ideas and results in a bigger round, to get feedback and to facilitate collaborations.
